Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) courses sponsored by West Penn Burn Center and the Pennsylvania Trauma Society; for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, therapists and paramedics

An 8-hour course on the assessment and management of the burn patient during the first 24 hours post injury using lectures, case studies and simulations to teach assessment, stabilization and the American Burn Association criteria for transfer to a burn center. Participants must pass a written exam and a practical assessment to earn continuing education credit.
